Resources for Faculty-Staff

We recognize that faculty and administrators face a number of competing demands for their time and attention. We also recognize that while many faculty share a deep conviction for community service and involvement, without additional support to assist faculty and their students in connecting with communities in meaningful ways, such engagements are unlikely to occur. In addition, some faculty are willing to engage with local communities but are simply unaware of opportunities to do so. To promote greater awareness among faculty and staff regarding Emory's community-based and community-focused initiatives in teaching, research, and service, the Office of University-Community Partnerships maintains a Community Partnerships Database of these activities. To encourage greater faculty engagement with the Greater Atlanta community, the Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) provides financial support through its Community Partnerships Mini-Grant Program and support through its Community Partnerships Graduate Fellows Program to assist faculty in designing and carrying out teaching and research activities that address critical local needs. Our website also provides links to a variety of resources and publications that discuss university-community partnerships and provide examples of how faculty across the nation are becoming engaged with their communities through their teaching, research, and service activities.
