Graduate Fellows as Research Assistants
Community Partnership Graduate Fellows are available to work with
Emory faculty and staff and/or community groups, organizations and
agencies on short-term or pilot research projects. Our emphasis
is on providing assistance to research projects that provide some
tangible direct benefit to the community, particularly those that
aid in increasing the capacity of the community to address critical
community problems or assist in mobilizing funding agencies to support
new and innovative approaches that meet important community needs.
We are especially interested in projects where Emory faculty,
staff, and students work jointly with community groups, organizations,
and agencies in identifying the research question, designing the
research protocol, conducting the research, and disseminating and
utilizing the research findings.
OUCP-supported projects involving Community Partnership Graduate
Fellows generally fall into one of three categories:
- Technical assistance and capacity building to assist community-based
groups, organizations, and agencies;
- Critical analyses, needs assessments, and strategic planning
to help local groups design more effective programs and policies
to address critical community needs; and
- Program monitoring, implementation assessment, and impact evaluation
of existing interventions to aid in finetuning programs so they
may more effectively meet critical community needs.
